New Tenure-Track Faculty Orientation - Fall 2022

This orientation is for faculty beginning tenure Fall 2022.

Note: You must have your BC email/password set up before we can enroll you in the Canvas course.

Our Orientation to Teaching at Bellevue College consists of:

1. A required online orientation to complete in approx. 3 hours.

2. Optional Union meeting Tuesday, September 13, 9:30 - 10:15 a.m. in D104 | Coffee, tea and pastries will be available

3. Optional in person meeting and tour Tuesday, September 13, 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in D106 | Lunch will be served

You will have the opportunity to meet colleagues from areas around the campus! During this session we will learn about how to access campus resources for students and faculty.

4. Required Tenure-Track informational session and social Tuesday, September 13, 12:30 - 4 p.m. in D106

In this orientation, faculty will:

1. Gain an understanding of campus practices

2. Be able to identify campus resources that support instruction

3. Learn about the tenure process

4. Begin to develop a sense of community by meeting other tenure-track faculty, administrators, and staff 

5. Identify areas in their own development that require further learning

A $150 stipend from the Office of Academic Affairs is available for participants who attend the two-part Orientation and complete the evaluation.
